For New Construction Homes Tips "Kitchens on a Budget"

In today’s world, some people make the statement that “people are buying a kitchen and not a house”. That may be a little extreme but not to far from the truth. That is why you must put time and thought into your kitchen. It doesn’t matter whether you are trying to sell your home or building a new home. Put time, thought and creativity in your kitchen and it will payoff big in the end.

We all know you can have a great kitchen just by throwing money at it. That is easy to do. But remember old King Salmon who believed that greatness is found in the details. And not all details need to cost a lot of money. So here are a few details that you should concentrate on that can help you save money and still give you a great kitchen.

Lighting plays a large role in every kitchen. So spend so money on the fixture and make sure it gives plenty of light. Better to have too much lighting and have to install a dimmer switch than not enough and having a dark kitchen.

Paint is cheap and bringing color into a room invokes emotions. Emotion is always a positive, so tattoo your kitchen with your favorite color. Maybe add a sponge look or rag roll finish to give it that detail that I always talk about.

If you can’t afford expensive cabinets or your cabinets are plain oak, think about adding paint or a glaze to them. Adding paint over a stained cabinet will breathe new life into a kitchen.

Adding attractive knobs or handles onto a plain cabinet can change the whole look of a kitchen.

The Kitchen Faucet is touched and used more than any other fixture in a kitchen, so don’t ignore it.

Look for appliances that have a big look at a cheap price. They do make them.

Last but not least is your kitchen floor. There are great options today that were not available a few years ago. Shop them out and find that perfect floor that fits your personality.

Your kitchen is the most important room in your home, so don’t take it for granted. Put time, thought and creativity into it, it will pay you dividends in the long run.

Remember, greatness in is the details. Good luck with your home and I hope this helps you. If you have any other question or comments, feel free to leave them here or email me at rick@livewellcustomhomes.com
